Techno?Economic Assessment of Renewable Energy?based Microgrids in the Amazon Remote Communities in Ecuador

Several remote communities have limited electricity access and are mainly dependent on environmentally damaging fossil fuels. The installation of microgrid networks green energy initiatives currently addressing this issue. Thus, the techno-economic assessment a that comprises photovoltaic arrays, micro-hydro turbine, diesel generation is proposed herein. Two scenarios evaluated considering inclusion or not generation. This model performed in HOMER. results demonstrate best option economics to invest PV/hydro/diesel microgrid, resulting an net present cost 2.33 M$, 0.194 $ kWh?1. Furthermore, address price uncertainties, sensitivity analysis carried out based three different projected prices.
